About The Position

GD Energy Products, formerly Gardner Denver High Pressure Solutions, is seeking an EHS Specialist to join their team in Conroe, TX. This role is crucial for ensuring OSHA and corporate Environment Health and Safety compliance across multiple sites and projects within a growing manufacturing company. The specialist will drive results, foster collaboration, and ensure compliant EHS programs with a focus on continuous improvement. This position involves collaborating with operations to integrate EHS compliance into daily activities and addressing problems with limited supervision.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of OSHA and TCEQ regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle internal and external contacts positively and effectively.
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge in the areas of occupational safety, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Proficient with project management and problem-solving.
  • Must be willing to learn and gain experience as needed for compliance.
  • Must be willing to work as a team player with production and the EHS team.
  • High school Diploma or Equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field preferred.
  • Education and/or knowledge of Safety/Environmental regulations and compliance, concentration in Safety or Environmental, Science, Engineering or related technical discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews processes, facilities, procedures, and management of change documents to ensure conformance with EHS regulations, standards, and guidelines.
  • Completes hazard assessments, process hazard analyses, life safety reviews, incident investigations, safety regulatory field analyses, reports, and permit applications.
  • Provides leadership for the formation and sustained performance of action-oriented EHS committees.
  • Ensures completion of all regulatory submissions, notifications, etc., required for compliance with federal, state, and local EHS requirements.
  • Manages EHS agency inspections and regulatory advocacy.
  • Ensures compliance with environmental health and safety regulations and policies.
  • Provides leadership and advice on EHS programs.
  • Carries out audits to ensure company and government standards are met.
