About The Position

As an EHS Specialist, you’ll help create a safer, healthier, and more environmentally responsible workplace. You’ll partner with teams across the site and the enterprise to support environmental, health and safety programs, training, inspections, and compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This is a hands-on role helping improve workplace safety and environmental practices, with opportunities to collaborate with employees, leaders, and outside regulatory agencies. The role offers variety in day-to-day tasks, from site inspections and training to managing safety information and supporting facility projects. You will have the chance to identify improvement opportunities, including practical uses of AI and technology, in a supportive environment to build your EHS knowledge and grow your career.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree and at least two years of related experience, an equivalent combination of education and experience, or a master’s degree.
  • Working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver clear, engaging EHS requirements and training.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to manage information and create reports or presentations.
  • The ability to work well with people across departments while staying organized and detail-focused.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with explosives and explosives safety would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and hazard/risk assessments.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for finding new ways—including AI tools—to improve safety, efficiency, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Support environmental, health and safety programs, training, inspections, and compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct EHS inspections, internal audits, and identify workplace hazards.
  • Evaluate and propose corrective actions where needed.
  • Maintain an EHS management system in accordance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Support not only the local site, but regionally and across the enterprise.
  • Recommend practical solutions and help prevent incidents.
  • Find new ways—including AI tools—to improve safety, efficiency, and compliance.
