About The Position

This role is responsible for completing assigned tasks related to Safety and Health, including Standard Tasks, Plant Audit/Support Activity, Hoshin Kanri Objectives, and other duties as assigned. The position involves managing various EHS functions, supporting plant operations, contributing to Hoshin Kanri objectives, and performing general administrative duties within the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), Environmental Science, Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Electrical), Linguistics (Spanish/Portuguese and/or Japanese), or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Entry to 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to perform in a self-directed work style and independently, as well as within a team setting.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and work well with corporate and plant team members.
  • Ability to compile effective and concise visual reports in charts, graphs, and table format.
  • Ability to maintain on-call flexibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as Occupational Safety and Health Technician (OSHTEC), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred, but not required.
  • OSHA 30, CIAQM, Train the Trainer Courses for Qualified Work (PIT/Crane/Confined Space/Electrical/Etc. ISO14001/45001/50001 Lead Auditor Certifications a plus, but not required.
  • Japanese, Spanish, and Portuguese language skills would be helpful.
  • Thorough understanding and working knowledge of TBA’s organization, automotive plants and processes/principles, company products, trade terminology, and manufacturing processes, tooling and equipment, and machine operation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned EHS Standard Tasks, which may include incident management, incident analysis, preparing reports, supporting health functions (Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics), managing MSDS Online System, managing CHIPS Program, and presenting reports for various meetings.
  • Provide plant support functions for assigned plants, including responding to emergencies, supporting inspections and complaints related to OSHA/EPA/Local regulations, completing EHS audits, providing support during vacancies, and understanding local regulatory requirements.
  • Develop individual Hoshin Kanri objectives to achieve department goals and provide monthly reporting on Hoshin status to leadership.
  • Support requests from the department or other divisions, manage daily emails, and schedule and conduct meetings as needed.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.
