Discover Impactful Work: Learns all aspects of environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs. Assists with ensuring safe practices and regulatory compliance at the Middelton campus. Supports products, programs, action plans and services within the department. A Day in the Life: Primary role is to ensure safe removal and disposal of hazardous/biological waste from sites around the Middleton campus on a regular basis. Maintains and monitors waste manifest system. Completes reporting forms and documents for all required regulatory agencies. Practices and enforces good safety practices. Supports inquiry response and provides follow-up to EHS issues. Assists with EHS requirements and takes appropriate actions to ensure issues are resolved in a timely fashion. Escalates concerns as needed and appropriate. Learns and maintains up to date knowledge on federal, state and local requirements to support compliance programs (i.e. OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.). May assist with updating EHS related procedures. Supports the development of EHS training programs and may assist with or conduct trainings. Keys to Success: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 2 years). In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
