As an EH&S Program Manager, you’ll champion a culture of safety that empowers teams and strengthens every project we touch. In this role, you’ll be the go-to safety leader across construction and renovation work—spending several days each week in the field, coaching teams, assessing high-risk activities, and building programs that prevent injuries before they happen. You’ll collaborate closely with construction safety leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to advance systemwide safety initiatives while balancing onsite rounds, data-driven insights, and team engagement. The Facilities Services division enhances health through leadership, collaboration, and innovation. Our team offers essential non-clinical support 24/7, ensuring safe operations and planning for future needs. We represent the intersection of planning, construction, general services, and facilities operations. The Facilities Infrastructure & Safety (FIS) business unit is vital in ensuring the safety, security, and operational integrity of Stanford Health Care facilities while also managing disaster preparedness and complex building systems to foster a secure healthcare environment. FIS is made up of multiple departments aligned in focus: Environmental Health & Safety, Facility Field Services, Protective Services, Security Services, Office of Emergency Management, Facilities Engineering - Systems, Operational Technology, Facilities Engineering- Infrastructure, Facilities Services Response Center, and Facilities Administration. Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) ensures a safe, compliant, and healthy workplace by managing environmental risks, promoting a culture of safety, and leading accreditation efforts across hospital, clinic, and lab environments. The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Program manager is responsible for the planning, administration and management of safety, health and fire safety programs throughout the hospital to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws, regulations and standards concerning environmental health and safety, as well as applicable standards set forth by The Joint Commission (TJC). Ensure compliance with all standards promulgated by all Federal, State and local agencies through developing and implementing environmental management programs, on-site inspection and monitoring programs throughout the organization. Manages interactions with outside agencies and regulatory agency personnel for assigned area.
