About The Position

The Manager, Environmental, Health & Safety is responsible for driving a positive safety culture that includes leading the Safety Committee and coordinating ongoing safety communication. The position is also responsible for planning, coordinating, and conducting environmental, health & safety activities as needed to ensure compliance with Company Environmental, Health and Safety policies and all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes. This is an experienced level position with direct reports that reports to the Director of Quality Assurance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, or a related field
  • 5 years minimum experience in Environmental, Health and Safety related positions within the Aviation Industry
  • 3 years minimum experience of dealing directly with OSHA regulations and regulatory compliance under 29 CFR 1910
  • 3 years minimum experience of being responsible for HAZMAT control and disposal
  • OSHA-30 Certification
  • Must be able to legally work in the US without sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Manage Company Environmental, Health and Safety Function
  • Ensures compliance with Environmental permits
  • Implement facility’s Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and performs incident/accident investigations and ensures reports are complete for workers compensation reporting and/or damage reporting to aircraft and/or company equipment
  • Keeps OSHA Forms 300 and 300A up to date and reviews other safety and injury reports as required
  • Ensure waste streams are properly classified, handled, stored and disposed of in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Manage required reports, records, and other documentation for all EH&S Department activities
  • Maintains Material Safety Data Sheets and Chemical Inventory List on Company network
  • Accompanies OSHA, Fire Department personnel, Workers Compensation representatives, Fort Worth Water Systems personnel and TCEQ representatives, etc. during inspections as required
  • Keep all Management personnel informed of safety and environmental activities and of any potential problem areas. Ensure company personnel are informed of safety requirements or issues as needed
  • Verifies facility fire extinguishers, emergency eye wash stations and first aid kits are appropriately inspected and maintained, recording status of compliance each month
  • Performs weekly hangar and shop safety inspections and maintains written report of findings. Reports non-compliance issues to Vice President of Quality
  • Conducts initial and recurrent safety and environmental training sessions to ensure that Company personnel are knowledgeable in proper procedures to follow
  • Maintains the safety manual and other related documents and revises when required
  • Serve as EH&S Department representative to attend and participate in meetings and committees as required
  • Manage oversight of safety training lesson plans and ensure training reference materials are prepared as required
  • Stays up to date on Company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
