About The Position

APAC Atlantic, Inc., Asheville Division, is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Intern to join their team. This internship offers the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to assist the EHS team in ensuring safety and health work standards and methodologies are met. The role involves contributing to targeted goals through individual and team-based objectives and strategies. The position is expected to be onsite from late May 2026 through August 2026, with a minimum commitment of 8 weeks, full-time.

Requirements

• Working towards a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or EHS related field from a college or technical school.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computing skills.
• Strong analytical, data management skills.
• Ability to write and communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures.
• Strict adherence to Company policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Book of Policies.

Nice To Haves

• Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with developing, managing, and implementing all safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety-related regulations.
• Updating and maintaining EHS documentation to support standardization.
• Conducting risk assessments and evaluating risk management information to identify potential safety and environmental hazards and impacts, then identifying and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
• Supporting the EHS team with site visits, including documentation, observations, and follow-ups on safety initiatives.
• Contributing to special projects that address business priorities or improve safety and environmental standards.
• Analyzing and organizing data to show trends and help prioritize focus areas that will make the biggest impact to the business.
