Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in the biological, physical, or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation; and five years of professional environmental protection experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise investigation, design, and environmental assessments for mine fire and subsidence reclamation projects
  • Evaluate engineering and geology work products and coordinate release of technical data to staff and partners
  • Prepare and manage professional service agreements and review consultant work for statewide reclamation needs
  • Oversee permitting requirements, interpret regulations, and coordinate reviews with agencies and stakeholders
  • Manage purchase, organization, and maintenance of section field equipment and geotechnical tools
  • Review staff performance, recommend training, and participate in hiring decisions and administrative tasks
