About The Position

GHD has a great opportunity for an Entry Level Environmental Field Technician to join our team in Borger, Tx office. This position is an integral part of our contamination, assessment, and remediation (CAR) business group and requires a diverse array of responsibilities. Working on a diverse range of projects, this role is a “hands on” field position requiring travel and occasional overnight work throughout the area. Requirements

  • GED or High School diploma
  • Candidate must live within one-hour drive time from the City of Borger, TX or willing to relocate to Borger, TX.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to perform field work in a refinery environment (i.e., wear respirator)
  • Commitment to safety utilizing a behavior-based safety culture in all aspects of the job
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and computer aptitude
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel out of town
  • Physically capable of working in non-ideal conditions, such as hot/cold temperatures, wet weather, outside, and around loud equipment and traversing rough terrains
  • Ability to be a self-starter, flexible, team player, willing and able to work on a wide variety of tasks with minimal supervision in a drug-free workplace
  • Ability to analyze field readings, data, and operating parameters to optimize system operations

Responsibilities

  • Inspection, maintenance, monitoring and sampling of environmental groundwater wells
  • Ensure work is completed in a safe and compliant manner with respect to applicable OSHA, GHD and client standards. Majority of work will be performed in a refinery environment.
  • Generate litigation quality field notes and enter collected field data electronically to database programs
  • Correspondence with certified laboratory and shipping of collected samples
  • Perform site inspections and collection of assessment field data including soil, surface water and air
  • Operations and maintenance, troubleshooting and oversight of remedial equipment including groundwater extraction systems, soil vapor extraction, dual phase extraction and related environmental remediation equipment
  • Work directly with clients and contractors
