About The Position

I-2-I Solutions is seeking a qualified Environmental Water Sampler to support federal water quality and PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) sampling projects. This role involves collecting drinking water and environmental samples in accordance with strict federal, state, and laboratory protocols, with a strong emphasis on contamination prevention and data integrity. The position requires strict adherence to PFAS sampling protocols, including the use of PFAS-free materials, powderless nitrile gloves, and meticulous control of sample containers to prevent cross-contamination. Candidates must be able to work independently in the field, maintain detailed logs, and coordinate with project managers and laboratory partners. Training on PFAS sampling protocols will be provided, but a strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict contamination-control procedures are essential.

Requirements

  • Experience in water sampling, environmental fieldwork, or related discipline preferred.
  • Familiarity with EPA or state sampling procedures (drinking water, Legionella, or PFAS is a plus).
  • Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and SOPs.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently in the field.
  • Must be able to follow PPE and safety protocols.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PFAS sampling or low-level contaminant sampling.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC procedures (field blanks, duplicates, etc.).
  • Experience working on federal or VA contracts.
  • OSHA 10/30 or similar safety training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field sampling of drinking water systems, including PFAS, Colilert, PH, Chlorine.
  • Follow strict PFAS sampling protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Accurately complete Chain-of-Custody (COC) documentation.
  • Label, preserve, and package samples for laboratory shipment.
  • Maintain proper sample handling procedures (cooling, storage, and transport).
  • Deliver collected Samples to the appropriate Laboratory or to the FedEx/UPS location.
  • Coordinate with project managers and laboratory partners.
  • Follow site-specific safety and access requirements (including VA facilities).
  • Maintain field logs, sampling records, and QA/QC documentation.
