About The Position

WSP is currently seeking an Environmental Field Technician to join the team in our Merrimack, NH office, supporting a diverse portfolio of environmental investigation and remediation projects. The successful candidate will support various environmental sampling activities at public and private sector environmental projects primarily in the northeast. You will be part of a growing organization committed to meeting client objectives and solving complex environmental challenges. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience, Environmental Science or a closely related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to work safely in varied outdoor environments and weather conditions.
• Interest in fieldwork and willingness to travel for extended field campaigns.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and work effectively in team settings.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn software.
• Ability to accurately record, organize, and manage field data.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Effective time management skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, and set up field equipment.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem solving ability.
• Willingness to comply with site specific safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, extracting, identifying, and compiling environmental data from soil and groundwater sampling, stormwater sampling, boring logs, and other matrices for projects, investigations, and surveys.
• Review, integrate, collect data, and perform quality control from environmental regulatory, and other databases.
• Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements and statistical analysis of environmental data.
• Verify the characteristics of a site, providing technical assistance on various environmental issues.
• Write technical reports summarizing research with findings and conclusions, generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and software.
• Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but is not limited to, the maintenance of sample collection, laboratory documentation, written procedures, and field/work site logbooks.
• Assist technical staff and project managers with environmental risk identification and assessment, offering input and analysis with low-level threat mitigation activities and remediation projects.
• Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work.
• Assist with work plan preparation and coordination of field work permitting.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
