About The Position
PROtect, LLC is hiring motivated individuals to start a career in environmental compliance and emissions monitoring, no prior LDAR experience required. As an Environmental Field Technician (Apprentice), you’ll receive paid, hands-on training while working alongside experienced technicians at an industrial site. You’ll learn how to detect emissions, use specialized equipment, and help major facilities stay compliant with environmental regulations. Requirements
- 18+ years old with a high school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Comfortable working outdoors and in industrial environments
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, or similar)
Nice To Haves
- Any field, labor, or industrial experience
- Environmental or mechanical interest
- Experience with tools, equipment, or data entry
Responsibilities
- Learn to monitor equipment using EPA Method 21
- Inspect valves, pumps, and components for emissions leaks
- Tag leaks and support repair tracking
- Complete assigned monitoring routes within required timelines
- Use portable analyzers and electronic data collection devices
- Calibrate equipment and make minor adjustments
- Upload daily data and assist with emissions reporting
- Work closely with plant operations and site leadership
- Communicate daily findings and potential issues
- Support overall site compliance and performance
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE (including respirators)
- Report hazards, near misses, and incidents
- Build strong safety habits from day one
