Our Environmental team in Iselin, NJ is seeking a motivated Environmental Field Inspector with 3–5 years of experience to support a large‑scale infrastructure renewal project, involving waste management and environmental compliance. The project is located in the Borough of Queens, NY. The ideal candidate shall be comfortable working independently and can coordinate with multiple contractors. The main goal of the project is to ensure the proper removal and offsite disposal of waste generated in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements

  • Candidate should possess a B.S. degree in in Geology or Environmental Science (or equivalent).
  • This is a field position with approximately 90-100% of time spent on active project sites.
  • Candidate must be familiar with federal, state, and local regulatory regulations.
  • Candidate must pass a physical examination and drug testing as a condition of employment for this position.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Possessing up to date OSHA HAZWOPER training (29 CFR 1910) is a plus.
  • Experience working with NJDEP, NYSDEC and NYCDEP is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of waste loading and waste transportation activities.
  • Tracking, organizing, and managing waste manifests and associated documentation.
  • Reviewing waste profiles, analytical data, transporter certifications, and disposal facility approvals for regulatory compliance.
  • Conducting routine site compliance inspections and identifying corrective actions where necessary.
  • Working independently in a field-based environment while coordinating with contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Supporting additional environmental field and office activities, including sampling programs, environmental monitoring, remediation oversight, data management, and technical reporting.
