About The Position
AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Engineering professional in Tampa, Florida, to design water and wastewater infrastructure systems, including treatment, collection, distribution, and pumping. The role develops engineering deliverables such as calculations, technical reports, schematics, and construction drawings, and performs quality control reviews to identify discrepancies, validate assumptions, and check compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards. The position supports permitting efforts, construction activities, multidisciplinary engineering analyses and design reviews, and performs feasibility studies, master planning, and equipment evaluations. Up to 10% domestic travel is required. Telecommuting is permitted up to two days per week. Newly hired employees must attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office as a condition of employment.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in one of these fields or a related field and two years of experience as an Environmental Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation.
- Experience with water treatment design.
- Experience with wastewater treatment design.
- Experience with hydraulic analysis.
- Experience with water chemistry.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite, including Word and Excel.
- Technical report writing skills.
- Technical communication skills.
- Experience with GIS.
Responsibilities
- Design water and wastewater infrastructure systems, including treatment, collection, distribution, and pumping.
- Develop detailed calculations, technical reports, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Conduct quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings to identify discrepancies, validate assumptions, and ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
- Support permitting efforts through various agencies.
- Support construction activities by reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to perform engineering analyses, interpret field data, and contribute to design reviews.
- Perform feasibility studies, master planning, and equipment evaluations.
