Requirements

  • One year of engineering experience and possession of an active Engineering Intern certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or A bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
  • Possession of an active motor vehicle license.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate public water system applications for completeness and adherence to design standards
  • Conduct surveys and inspections of treatment facilities, distribution systems, and related structures
  • Prepare written reports with findings and recommendations for permit decisions
  • Provide consultation to applicants and engineers to resolve design or documentation issues
  • Work with staff on allocation permits, loan or grant reviews, and related regulatory requirements
  • Assist with investigations involving contamination, flooding, or other water system emergencies
