About The Position

This position provides technical assistance and guidance for due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, and environmental permitting projects. Tasks may include assisting with the development of processes and infrastructure relating to water supply, hazardous or solid waste disposal, air emission sources, pollution control, and preserving the quality of the environment by averting the contamination and degradation of air, water, and land resources. Generates accurate and concise reports and documentation regarding field conditions and assessing and advising on the short- and long-term risks to ecological and human health. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Civil, Sanitary, Chemical, Industrial, Agricultural, or Public Health Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • BS in Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • 3 to 5 yrs relevant work experience.
  • Experience in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and ArcGIS.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically ready to wear a tight-fitting respirator.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Engineer-In-Training certification

Responsibilities

  • Support project work of environmental engineers and other environmental professionals on New York City area infrastructure, site remediation and environmental permitting projects.
  • Office activities including engineering evaluations, cost evaluations, design support, preparation of bid documents and technical reports, submittal reviews, etc.
  • Field activities including data collection, environmental sampling, construction inspection, evaluation and documentation.
  • Work is expected to be both office and field based depending on current assignments.
  • Work overtime hours in excess of 8 hours/day, 40 hours / week on an as needed basis.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic and high degree of flexibility to adjust to changing work priorities.
