About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity for you to work in a premiere battery facility, Ultium. As an Environmental Engineer, you will design and implement environmental programs that allow you to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals to manage environmental compliance and conformance. We are currently looking for talented individuals who have a passion for the environment and who want to assist making Ultium Cells a leader in environmental compliance and sustainability. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with a major in engineering or related sciences with emphasis on environmental engineering required.
Communicate proficiently to all levels of management with executive presence
Work autonomously
Develop and lead effective teams
Determining compliance & data analysis
Timely and effective problem solving
Project execution
Connects the team to the outside world
Proficient in Air Permitting, Storm Water Permitting, Wastewater Permitting and/or Large Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Requirements.
Experience in environmental engineering or related science, preferably at a manufacturing operation.
Basic knowledge of a manufacturing processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor environmental parameters and progress to provide recommendations for continuous improvement
Provide results in a manner that is truthful and demonstrates strength of character
Grow to understand the plant manufacturing systems including production processes, wastewater discharges, storm water management, air emissions impacts, sewer systems, chemical usage, and waste management/recycling programs, to ensure effective decision-making and regulatory compliance
Interface with business partners and regulatory agencies to prepare required regulatory documentation and reports, schedule and perform compliance testing
Role model and reinforce our vision, mission, drives and behaviors that cultivate our cultural transformation
Focus on driving consistent environmental stewardship programs in support of our customers mission to deliver sustainable solutions that improve the communities in which we live and work
Develop creative solutions to complex environmental challenges
Utilize technology and information to develop and maintain environmental management systems
Support and improve system designs that preserve the environment, integrate the latest technologies and provide long-term environmental solutions
Build bridges by engaging with our Business Partners and environmental leaders to enable success for the organization, ensuring the achievement of Business Plan goals and objectives, as well as meeting regulatory compliance requirements
Engage with the Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) and any other local regulatory agencies to ensure implementation of robust environmental programs and to build relationships that support innovation and expedient resolution of concerns
