Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Environmental Engineering or related science
  • At least 5 years experience in a regulatory, enforcement of industrial/environmental setting
  • Knowledge of CAA, CWA, Title V and RCRA regulations
  • Knowledge of MACT, NSPS, NPDES, and RCRA regulations affecting the cement industry
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills needed
  • Proficient with Word, Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Good organizational skills, human relations and decision making abilities needed

  • Familiar with cement manufacturing is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine environmental sampling, conduct required inspections and maintaining necessary records.
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports monthly, as well as prepare and maintain the annual environmental operating plans.
  • Ensure all environmental permits/certificates are renewed in a timely manner and are kept up-to-date with any applicable facility changes.
  • Primary contact with regulatory agencies, and must accompany regulatory representatives during site inspections/visits.
  • Must stay educated in regards to the environmental regulatory changes with the potential to impact company operation, and to communicate these changes to the appropriate company management.
  • Must also continue self-improvement activities, especially in the area of new developments in environmental equipment and regulations.
  • Provide training for the environmental program, which includes training and coordinating the environmental management team.
