About The Position

Performs engineering work to minimize environmental risks and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements. The work requires a knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques of engineering concerned with facilities and systems for controlling pollution and protecting quality of resources and the environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s in Environmental Science; Engineering; Science or related field.
Less than 3 years of experience.
Knowledge of environmental sciences, especially those areas of biology, chemistry, and engineering which relate to pollution control principles.
Knowledge of environmental regulations and environmental reporting includes, but not limited to, hazardous waste, air, NPDES, and wastewater.
Technical writing skills
Strong root cause investigation techniques
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks to completion.
Problem-solving, research and resolution, data analysis skills.
Excellent follow-up skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills in individual and group situations
Interacts and works efficiently with co-workers and outside vendors/agencies in a professional manner.
Follow all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
Able to comply with the company’s safety, environmental, quality, and HR policies at all times.

Responsibilities

Provide direction on environmental regulatory policies, programs, or activities by establishing standards, promoting improvements, and evaluating compliance.
Prepare and track permit applications such as air, NPDES, wastewater, or hazard waste permits.
Develop environmental written program documents such as SPCC, SWPPP, and FRP.
Interface with regulatory agencies and divisional personnel to direct environmental efforts and interact with outside vendors as necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Serve as technical resource person for plant and facility staff for environmental issues.
Collect and synthesize data derived from monitoring activities.
Monitor compliance with environmental standards and best practices. Supports audit and self-assessment processes.
Effectively communicate issues associated with environmental maintenance and compliance to management, facility personnel and other government agencies.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety requirements.
Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe workstation/environment at all times.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
