About The Position

Verdantas is seeking a driven Engineer Intern to join its growing environmental team in the Wilkes-Barre, PA office for Summer 2027. This internship offers hands-on experience in site investigations, design and remediation support, field sampling and inspections, and the development of reports and permitting documents. Requirements

• Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Sciences
• Relevant coursework in environmental principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and in team settings
• Willingness to perform fieldwork and lift equipment
• Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training
• Experience with environmental modeling or risk assessment tools

Responsibilities

• Conduct field sampling (soil, water, air) and site inspections
• Assist with engineering calculations, designs, and conceptual models
• Support construction materials testing and specification interpretation
• Perform preliminary human health and ecological risk modeling
• Research, collect, and enter environmental data
• Prepare technical reports and visual aids
• Collaborate with engineers, geologists, and scientists on project tasks
• Travel occasionally for field assignments
