About The Position

Gerdau is offering an 8-month term co-op/internship position for an Environmental Engineer. This role is an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience with one of the largest steel producers in the world. The program is designed for individuals with high learning agility, a willingness to adapt and develop continuously, and a drive to consistently outperform. Requirements

  • Completed at least two years of a degree from a recognized university in a Biosystems / Engineering discipline specializing in Environmental Science
  • Record of high academic achievement (Minimum GPA 2.5; preferred GPA 3.0 or higher)
  • Well-rounded applicants with leadership roles in student organizations or extra-curricular activities
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with great organizational qualities
  • Ability to work independently and be a fast-learner

Responsibilities

  • Update and manage procedures
  • Update spill procedures and spill response items
  • Update waste and recycling procedures; prepare powerpoint slides and assist in audits
  • Manage smaller environmental & safety projects
  • Perform safety orientations
