About The Position

Alnylam US, Inc. is seeking a Senior Environmental - Sustainability Engineer to lead enterprise-wide corporate environmental sustainability strategy. This role involves collecting, consolidating, maintaining, preparing, and presenting environmental sustainability reporting metrics, educational materials, and aspects & impacts for ESG disclosure compliance. The engineer will conduct Life Cycle Analysis of Alnylam products and processes to quantify carbon impacts, energy use, and overall environmental footprints. This position also serves as the system owner/administrator for the enterprise-wide sustainability software system and will project manage all internal sustainability projects from conception to completion. Collaboration with Capital Projects, Facilities Engineering, and Facilities Operations is key to identifying and quantifying sustainability metrics into projects. The role requires leading cross-functional relationships and establishing liaisons with internal business partners and external stakeholders like landlords and suppliers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Sustainability Science, Engineering (any) or related field of study and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• OR Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability Science, Engineer (any) or related of study and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and managing water, energy, hazardous waste and waste/recycling programs.
• Demonstrated experience with Greenhouse gas calculation software systems.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating, recommending, implementing and being system owner of enterprise greenhouse gas calculation software systems.
• Demonstrated experience with EHS Management Systems (ISO 14001, 14064 and 45001).

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of enterprise-wide corporate environmental sustainability strategy.
• Collect, consolidate, maintain, prepare, and present environmental sustainability reporting metrics, educational materials, and aspects & impacts for ESG disclosure compliance.
• Conduct and drive Life Cycle Analysis of Alnylam products and process to quantify carbon impacts, energy use and overall environmental footprints.
• Serve as system owner/administrator of enterprise-wide sustainability software system.
• Project manage all internal sustainability projects, from conception to completion.
• Partner with Capital Projects, Facilities Engineering, and Facilities Operations to identify and quantify sustainability metrics (energy reduction, recycling, diversion) into projects in support of Alnylam’s goals.
• Lead cross-functional relationships and establish direct liaison with key Alnylam internal business partners and external stakeholders, such as building landlords and key suppliers, in support of Alnylam environmental/sustainability initiatives.
