About The Position

Geosyntec is seeking a Project Professional for its Environmental Due Diligence and Sustainability Practice in its Energy/Energy Transition Operation based in Oakland, CA. This role will contribute to expanding business opportunities, enhancing Geosyntec’s energy projects footprint, and growing transactional due diligence, environmental regulatory compliance, and ESG consulting services. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred), geology, or applicable science program.
  • At least 7 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with environmental due diligence including performance of Phase I ESA’s under the applicable ASTM standards.
  • Working knowledge of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), and Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
  • Experience in effective management of projects, including responsibility for resource allocation, quality, technical oversight, and financial management.
  • Experience mentoring and managing professional staff.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handle multiple project assignments, meet deadlines, and travel to client facilities as needed.
  • Regular field work and overnight travel.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in engineering or science.
  • Experience performing limited environmental compliance evaluation projects.
  • Experience with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), sustainability and greenhouse gas (GHG) regulatory and strategy support services within North America associated with ongoing compliance and due diligence tasks.
  • Experience working on legally sensitive projects.
  • Experience implementing Phase II ESA and site investigation projects.
  • Demonstrated success in developing new business and managing clients.
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers.

Responsibilities

  • Directing, managing and implementing challenging technical projects involving: environmental due diligence (individual and programmatic projects); environmental regulatory compliance (multimedia auditing, facility program development, corrective action, and permitting support); ESG consulting, brownfield redevelopments; and site investigation and remediation.
  • Cultivating relationships with new and existing clients, resulting in the expansion of the Firm’s current practices and capabilities through new business opportunities.
  • Maintaining high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participation in client-based professional organizations, and attendance and presentations at industry events.
  • Supervising and mentoring early career professionals.
