About The Position

ERG's Environmental and Occupational Health Group has an immediate opening for an early career professional to join our multi-disciplinary team. This individual will support a range of environmental and sustainability-related projects, including a clean energy grant program. The qualified individual must be highly motivated with the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include managing large datasets, working with applicants to meet grant program requirements, using grant management software and related database applications to support client needs, and interfacing directly with clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with environmental or sustainability-related data
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools preferred
  • Experience with data visualization software, such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency improvements, water conservation measures, and greenhouse gas emissions inventories
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including experience drafting technical reports and presenting findings
  • Experience working with and managing large, complex datasets
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to take initiative, stay organized, and manage multiple tasks

Responsibilities

  • Review clean energy grant applications for eligibility and completeness
  • Process payment requests and interface with applicants throughout the grant process
  • Identify and categorize potential application errors and communicate them to applicants and clients
  • Help develop and maintain a public-facing government data dashboard
  • Analyze, collect, and organize data to support greenhouse gas, energy, and water reduction projects, benchmarking, and reporting
  • Research and develop briefing materials on sustainability topics, including decarbonization and building and fleet electrification
  • Provide additional data analysis and technical communications support on environmental, sustainability, and public health topics
