About The Position

At Farallon, you'll do more than observe. You'll work alongside scientists, geologists, engineers, and environmental professionals on real projects that help solve complex environmental challenges across the Pacific Northwest. As a 100% employee-owned firm, we're invested in developing the next generation of environmental consultants. This internship offers meaningful, hands-on experience, technical skill development, and exposure to the consulting industry from day one. We're seeking a motivated student pursuing a degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Earth Science, or a related field to join our Bellevue or Seattle team. As an intern, you'll contribute to environmental investigation, remediation, compliance, and technical projects both in the field and in the office. The position typically runs for approximately 10 -12 weeks, with start and end dates determined based on academic schedules and project needs.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's program in a related environmental discipline
  • Interest in environmental consulting and remediation
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Assist with environmental site investigations and remediation projects.
  • Support soil, groundwater, sediment, and stormwater sampling activities.
  • Collect, manage, and interpret environmental data.
  • Conduct regulatory and historical research.
  • Assist with technical reports, figures, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the Puget Sound region.
  • Gain exposure to consulting, project management, and environmental regulations.
