About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Construction Monitor for projects local to our Boston, MA office. This role involves field oversight of various construction activities to ensure environmental compliance. The position requires ensuring adherence to permits, preparing reports, reviewing submittals, and managing environmental applications. Additionally, the role may involve assessing wetland mitigation areas and contributing to design aspects under general direction.

Requirements

BA/BS + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
NPDES permitting experience
Demonstrated experience in construction environments.
US Citizenship is required.
Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review

Responsibilities

Field oversight of installation of erosion and sedimentation controls, dewatering activities, cofferdam installation and removal, dust control, and hazardous materials including contaminated soils and sediments management.
Perform field site inspections to ensure compliance with NPDES and environmental permits
Prepare of inspection reports
Review of construction submittals
Preparing environmental permit applications, including amendment requests, modifications, extensions, etc.
Perform assessments of wetland mitigation areas in compliance with applicable performance standards
Serves as a capable professional within specific domains of the field.
Under general direction, prepares and modifies designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings.
Independently develops alternate technical solutions and design options in support of project team, e.g. white paper research, code review and wide range of difficult problems.
Develops and/or implements the results of reports, opinions, or recommendations to address design challenges/opportunities.
Leads the development and implementation of the design ideas and solutions.
Responsible for communication and collaboration with full design team and client.
Oversees and coordinates the technical work for projects consistent with experience.
Understands the marketing of professional services.
Develops and leads technical approach and criteria for a design element and coordinates complex work.
Ensures compliance to Quality Assurance Procedures.
May be required to sign and seal documents (e.g. drawings).
Employee works with clients as well as the internal and external project team to execute the project from concept to execution and completion.
