About The Position

This position is located in the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD), Watershed Protection Branch, Watershed Compliance Program, Drinking Water Compliance Unit. The incumbent is responsible for managing one or more Safe Drinking Water Act rules, monitoring water systems’ compliance using the Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS) database, initiating timely enforcement actions for violations as appropriate, and following up to ensure affected water systems return to compliance. The position also provides technical information to the regulated community and the general public as needed. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; can communicate effectively with internal and external customers; and is self-motivated, hardworking, and able to demonstrate leadership skills.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, physics, geology, engineering, or another closely related field from an accredited college or university.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Self-motivation, a hardworking disposition, and leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with state and federal rules and regulations.
Experience working in an environmental profession.
Familiarity with state and federal drinking water rules and regulations.

Responsibilities
