About The Position

E-logic is seeking a highly qualified Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team providing technical and environmental program management support services to the Environmental Program Office (Environmental Protection Branch) at NSWC Crane. This role involves supporting regulatory compliance across multiple environmental programs, including air quality, wastewater, storm water, and hazardous waste management. The ideal candidate will work within a collaborative teaming environment alongside government personnel and contractor partners to ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local laws.

Requirements

  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Environmental, Biological, or Physical Sciences, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of demonstrated experience in environmental compliance, field sampling, or laboratory testing relevant to government or industrial environmental programs.
  • Current 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification with valid annual 8-hour refreshers.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license and operate off-road utility vehicles for remote well monitoring.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be fit to operate motor vehicles/handling equipment safely on-center.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS, database data entry (EMSWeb/NetDMR), or specific state systems (IDEM/SHAARD) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing and implementing environmental operating permits, including generating and submitting permit applications, modifications, and regulatory compliance reports (e.g., Clean Air Act Title V, NPDES, RCRA).
  • Conduct routine regulatory environmental inspections and compliance audits across permitted facilities (such as central storage facilities and outfalls); document and track findings inside tracking databases like EMSWeb.
  • Oversee and perform environmental media sampling and field/lab testing (soil, air, surface water, groundwater, and wastewater) in strict accordance with Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs).
  • Gather, analyze, and compile data for required environmental reports, annual emissions statements, greenhouse gas reports, and Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) Tier II/TRI filings.
  • Identify compliance deficiencies, perform root cause analyses, and develop/implement corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Participate as a member of the installation spill response team for oil and hazardous substance incidents when required.
