Requirements

  • BS degree in environmental science, chemistry or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental compliance (air, stormwater and waste)
  • OSHA and EPA / State regulatory compliance knowledge and experience
  • Thorough background in manufacturing plant safety programs
  • Extensive knowledge of hazardous materials and chemical storage
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis experience
  • Emergency Response Planning
  • OSHA recordkeeping
  • ISO 14001 system knowledge
  • Regulatory inspections and agency engagement

Responsibilities

  • Oversee site environmental remediation programs, coordinate with site contractors, and manage Facility Corrective Action Permit
  • Prepare and submit Monthly Analysis Reports (MARs) for the discharge from the industrial wastewater treatment plant, paying special attention to lab qualifiers and the associated reporting standards for the MAR
  • Prepare monthly air emissions report collaborating with client and various contractors to ensure compliance with State and Federal air emissions
  • Designate HAPs and VOCs within the chemical ingredients used within the site; Assess chemical requests for trigger ingredients and PBTs; Assess for TSCA chemicals of concern (PFAS, etc.); Respond to chemical inquiries as needed
  • Lead the ISO 14001 program, the environmental management system (EMS), and take ownership of the EMS documents
  • Participate in Management Systems meetings
  • Update the site’s environmental documentation and support the internal/external audit and prepare for the annual Management Review meetings
  • Review changes to the Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan for the site, conduct NPDES inspections at two industrial complexes
