About The Position

Belshire is a 100% employee-owned environmental services company serving a diverse client base from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Our team of regulatory experts uses tailored compliance and document management programs to ensure regulatory tasks are completed accurately and on time. We are seeking a talented, dependable, and hardworking Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role involves working at both underground storage tank (UST) and aboveground storage tank (AST) facilities, conducting inspections, and providing crucial training to facility employees who are the first line of defense against spills. The goal is to ensure the cleanliness of our waterways.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass the California UST System Operator Certification after completing company-sponsored training.
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Ability to collaborate with a team.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Enjoy problem solving.
  • Proficient with computers and learning new software.
  • Personal vehicle to be used for travel between job sites.
  • Valid CA driver’s license with excellent driving record.
  • Ability to pass background screening after a conditional job offer is made and accepted.
  • Suitable candidates will be located in or near the job location.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regulatory visual inspections at gas stations and other UST and AST facilities.
  • Effectively communicate crucial information to assist clients in maintaining compliance with federal, state, district, and local regulations.
  • Provide annual training to designated facility employees on required safety and compliance duties.
  • Complete state inspection report forms.
  • Perform additional environmental regulatory audits as required by client and location.
  • Act independently and as part of a team to make appropriate compliance recommendations.
  • Perform regular safety checks on all field equipment and complete vehicle inspection reports.
