Interprets federal and state laws, regulations, and orders as they apply to environmental practices. Implements policies and procedures to ensure that these work activities are in compliance with the appropriate statutes and regulations and that reporting requirements are met. Oversees specific projects from an environmental perspective at Y-12. Reviews and analyzes environmental documentation issued by the federal EPA, state, and local regulatory agencies. Determines impact on company operations and publishes compliance strategies and requirements. Evaluates proposed regulations to determine impact on company operations. Interacts with federal, state, and local regulators to resolve compliance issues; establishes permit requirements; and assists in EPA, state, and regulatory audits. Investigates and resolves compliance issues and problems, questions, or complaints received from within the company, customers, government regulatory agencies, etc. Evaluates current policies, procedures, and documentation for compliance with government laws and regulations. EC lead on projects at Y-12 - EC contact for permitting on responsible projects including excavation permits, JHAs, HIWs, and construction checklists - Provides guidance on RCRA, TSCA, Clean Air, Clean Water and CERCLA requirements for projects - Work with UCOR, TDEC, EPA, EM, NNSA and other parties for Project team (touches on all work across the sites that could affect each others scope)
