About The Position

This is an entry-level position under limited supervision that provides support to the Environmental Department at the Grayson County Health Department. The role involves preparing routine letters, answering a multi-line phone system, performing data entry, interacting with the public, scheduling appointments, collecting fees, and directing clients to the appropriate staff. The Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) is responsible for developing and operating state public health programs and activities for the citizens of Kentucky, with a mission to improve health and safety through prevention, promotion, and protection. DPH oversees nearly 150 programs in cooperation with partners like local health departments, universities, and private providers, relying on high-quality data for decision-making. The department is organized into seven divisions with the Commissioner's Office providing oversight.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Participate in on the job training programs to become knowledgeable regarding the Patient and Community Health Services Reporting and Billing Procedures (PSRS)
• Receives ongoing trainings
• Applicants and employees in this classification may be required to submit to a drug screening test and background check according to the agency’s policies

• Gather information from clients
• Use the Environmental Health Management Information System (EHMIS)
• Provide certificates for services rendered in environmental
• Generate and issue all permits and applications
• Request and reviews relevant reports for completeness
• Complete forms containing all pertinent information for processing
