We are currently seeking Environmental Chemistry and Chemical Forensics Scientists for our Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice in Burlington, MA. In this role, you will work as part of a team to provide technical analysis on existing projects and business development efforts.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Civil, Environmental, or Geologic Engineering, Environmental/Earth Science, Environmental Chemistry, or a related discipline
  • Three to five (3-5) years of environmental litigation support experience with a consulting company in the United States is required
  • Familiarity with environmental chemistry, contaminant fate and transport, PFAS, chlorinated solvents, PCBs, among other organic and inorganic compounds; apportionment and allocation of response costs is a plus
  • Strong interest in career and professional development within a dynamic consulting environment
  • Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills
  • Detail-oriented, able to work independently, and manage time effectively
  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Presently legally authorized to work in the United States. No immigration sponsorship or processing required.

Responsibilities

  • Providing support to clients and to your team in Exponent’s Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice, with a focus on environmental chemistry data analysis and chemical fingerprinting to identify sources of chemicals in soil, sediment, groundwater, and air
  • Supporting multidisciplinary project teams on exciting and challenging projects that construct history of industrial operations and contaminant releases to identify liabilities among responsible parties
  • Attending conference presentations and participating in journal publications
  • Expanding your professional visibility
  • Developing client relationships
