About The Position

You can make a difference in patients' lives as an Environmental Service Technician with Corewell Health. Your contributions in this role have a direct impact on high-quality care; you'll be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting assigned work areas, removing medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining the appearance and condition of our floors, carpets, and upholstery. Communication and collaboration with other team members are essential to ensure continuity of service and help foster a positive work environment. No experience is required - you will be fully trained and supported and can grow and learn new skills to develop your career. The essential functions include cleaning, disinfecting, and stocking patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures. This role also involves the removal and disposal of linens and waste streams, performing interim and restorative maintenance to hard floors, carpets, and upholstery, and assembling, maintaining, and storing necessary equipment and supplies. The attendant will communicate and collaborate with team members, report maintenance and cleaning requirements, and assist visitors and employees with navigation. The position requires full functioning within one cleaning area and may involve working across department sites for coverage and business needs.

Requirements

• Comply with the MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccine requirement if in an on-site or hybrid workplace category.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Public service and or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial experience

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the cleaning, disinfecting and stocking of patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Responsible for the removal and disposal of linens and waste streams.
• Performs interim and restorative maintenance to hard floor, carpets and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assembles, maintains and stores equipment/supplies that are necessary to complete tasks according to department standards.
• Communicates and collaborates with other members of the team to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Reports general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in work area.
• Assists visitors and employees in navigating through the hospital to reach their destination.
• Fully functioning within one cleaning area.
• May be expected to work across department sites for coverage and business need.
