About The Position

Emplify Health Boscobel is seeking a full-time Environmental Service Assistant (housekeeper) to help keep our hospital clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone who walks through our doors. This role involves working a split shift from 9am-6:30 PM, 4 Days a Week, with rotating weekend coverage as needed. The position offers 0.9 FTE, which equates to 72 hours every two weeks, with 9-hour days, 4 days a week. The wage starts at $16.11/hour, with potential for more based on experience and a $1.00 PM Shift differential for hours worked after 3 PM.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Physically capable of performing manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Work a split shift from 9am-6:30 PM, 4 Days a Week (rotating weekend coverage as needed)
  • Works collaboratively with health care team members to provide waste disposal and cleaning services to ensure facilities are well maintained by planning, prioritizing, and organizing services while providing excellent customer service.
  • Meeting Department Quality Standards.
  • Works with Environmental Services supervisor on controlling cost, planning, scheduling, and system changes in order to maintain an efficient, cost effective department.
  • Work with department management to establish department and professional goals
  • Demonstrates dependability, problem solving, team building skills, organizational skills, and effective use of time by setting priorities to complete delegated work in accordance with Competency Based Orientation and unit guidelines.
  • Reports all incidents, maintenance, housekeeping, and painting issues to Environmental Services supervisor.
  • Completes annual required compliance training, and all mandatory education
  • Provides indirect patient care by cleaning and making patient beds on discharge, stocking of PPE baskets, and general cleaning of all rooms.
  • Ordering, Stocking and rotation of cleaning supplies
  • Follows safety guidelines related to body mechanics, use of hazardous materials, and personal protective equipment.
  • Maintains a safe work environment.
  • Adheres to regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other job related responsibilities as approved by Environmental Services management.
