About The Position

As an Environmental and Waste Management Intern, you’ll get the chance to experience what it takes to maintain environmental compliance and waste management in a highly regulated atmosphere. You’ll help ensure the organization meets regulatory requirements while improving environmental performance. The role combines hands-on field work, data tracking, and collaboration with environmental teams. In this hands-on role, you’ll support environmental compliance efforts, help manage waste‑handling processes, and contribute to initiatives that improve our overall environmental performance. You’ll collect and track data, collaborate with experienced environmental professionals, and gain real‑world experience that directly impacts how we operate responsibly. Requirements

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor’s or graduate program in environmental studies, environmental engineering, waste management, biology, or a related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Willingness to learn and contribute to a collaborative technical environment
U.S. citizenship
Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, or PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting
Completion of at least one year of college-level coursework in environmental engineering, sciences, or related program
Must be able to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
Must pass a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.
Must pass vetting to ensure Centrus Energy can meet the requirements of 10 CFR Parts 810 and 1017 to grant access to export-controlled information and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information, respectively.
