About The Position

The Environmental and Linen Services Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility, including various departments and patient rooms. This role involves cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, furniture, and equipment, as well as performing floor care such as mopping, vacuuming, and carpet extraction. Additionally, the technician will handle linen services, which includes sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing clean linens. Duties also encompass operating and maintaining laundry machinery, performing routine and terminal cleaning (including operating room terminal cleans and patient room turnovers), waste removal, and restocking supplies. The candidate should be prepared to handle infectious, regulated, medical, and hazardous waste and may interact with individuals of any age or condition.

Requirements

  • Will work as a dual employee covering shifts in the Laundry Department and Environmental Services, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility, including the Emergency Department, Med / Surg, restricted areas, skilled nursing facility, occupied and unoccupied patient and resident rooms, lab and radiology, offices, storage areas, and the detached Comstock Court building.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting fixtures, furniture, equipment exteriors, high‑touch surfaces, and bathrooms.
  • Servicing lobbies, waiting rooms, the gift shop, and on‑call sleep rooms.
  • Performing floor care in all assigned areas, including mopping, vacuuming, spot cleaning, and carpet and upholstery extraction.
  • Sorting, weighing, washing, drying, folding, and organizing facility laundry using commercial‑grade equipment.
  • Distributing clean linens throughout the facility to keep all departments properly stocked.
  • Operating, cleaning, and maintaining laundry machinery.
  • Ensuring the linen services work area remains clean, safe, and well‑organized.
  • Performing routine and terminal cleaning, including operating room terminal cleans and patient room turnovers.
  • Completing waste removal, restocking supplies, and supporting a safe, sanitary, and orderly environment in all clinical and non‑clinical areas.
  • Coming into contact with infectious, regulated, medical, and hazardous waste.
  • Potentially coming into contact with individuals of any age or condition.
