The Environmental/Energy Manager oversees Chugach’s Environmental/Energy program for maintenance operations support team of skilled and semi-skilled trades personnel. Primary duty and responsibility is to ensure Contractor operations adhere to the goals and policies of the Environmental Management System, the Installation Energy Plan, and other specified Sustainability requirements affecting this contract. The Environmental/Energy Manager will develop, implement and monitor environmental strategies, policies and programs that promote sustainable development and examine the contract activities to establish where improvements can be made and ensure compliance with environmental legislation and energy policy. The contract will cover general service work, general maintenance, base support vehicles and equipment, environmental and other base services. Work Model: Onsite/Office Based This position is contingent upon contract award. Salary Range: $105,000 – $115,000

Requirements

  • Minimum two years’ experience with environmental procedures on a facilities maintenance contract.
  • Familiarity with Environmental Management Systems (EMSs) and knowledge of environmental regulations and federal energy laws and policy (including energy and water reduction requirements and renewable energy requirements) that are applicable to operations similar to those of this contract.
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid Real ID driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as primary point of contact for all environmental and energy related issues.
  • Ensures a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigates and corrects environmental and energy related issues.
  • Develops, implements and maintains environmentally friendly work practices associated with assigned departments and interrelated departments and which aligns with Chugach’s culture of environmental stewardship.
  • Establishes programs for energy savings with the goal of aligning all operational functions with a structure that is focused on forward looking, i.e. preparing/approving environmentally safe and energy efficient procedures.
  • Fosters teamwork between departments on environmental and energy related issues.
  • Provides clear and decisive written and oral communication.
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with Government and internal customers.
  • Works professionally and collaboratively with all contract and company personnel.
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism and works well with all levels of the organization.
  • Operates Government and Chugach-owned motor vehicles.
  • Adheres to established company safety personnel and standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
