Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Previous experience in a EVS Hospital setting and/or experience preferred
  • Customer service driven
  • Excellent organization and time management skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, build and maintain long term relationships and work with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • strong analytical, organizational and time management skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new occupant; follows isolation procedure in isolation rooms.
  • Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls of bathrooms.
  • Removes soiled linens from work area and places in specified bags or containers and transports to laundry facility.
  • Dusts furniture, woodwork and equipment. Polishes and cleans fixtures in utility rooms. Dry mops and wet mops rooms, halls, utility rooms and public areas.
  • Removes and disposes of trash and waste materials and cleans the containers in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers to buff, strip, wax and polish the floors. Shampoos carpet and furniture; Cleans vents, fans, and other equipment using vacuum machines.
  • Cleans fixtures, windows inside and outside, tops of window frames, door frames, light fixtures and high areas using a ladder.
  • Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.
  • Loads and unloads washing machines and dryers.
  • Assists with flat work finishing. Shakes out dry, clean laundry, folds for mangling. Works as a catcher and folder after laundry is pressed.
  • Sets up chairs and tables, etc. for special events and folds and stores them after the event.
  • Completes job duties within required timeframe, according to established schedules or workflow requirements following established protocols and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient/resident/staff information.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
