The GOA Environmental Representative supports the Gulf of America HSE team by managing environmental compliance, incident reporting, regulatory engagement, and environmental preparedness activities. This role is based in The Woodlands, Texas and includes periodic offshore travel.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant environmental experience within the oil and gas industry.
  • Broad understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment regulations, procedures, and issues; knowledge of Gulf of America regulations preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex subjects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong time-management abilities and capability to independently prioritize multiple tasks.
  • High attention to detail and adaptability to changing conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the offshore oil and gas environmental sector.
  • Familiarity with Gulf of America HSE regulations (e.g., BSEE, USCG, EPA).
  • 5+ years of offshore-focused environmental experience.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in risk reviews (JSAs, HAZIDs, MOCs) and address environmental concerns while sharing relevant lessons learned.
  • Manage environmental incidents in Oxy’s incident management system.
  • Submit spill and marine debris reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Provide environmental support to offshore HSE and operations, including interpretation of regulatory requirements for air, waste, water, and spill reporting in the Gulf of America.
  • Contribute to Oil Spill Response Preparedness (OSRP) exercises in an Environmental Unit role.
  • Represent the company in industry workgroups related to offshore environmental regulations.
  • Develop and deliver Gulf of America-focused environmental training materials.
  • Perform additional duties to support continuous improvement in Health, Safety, and Environment.
