About The Position

The Environment Team Member is responsible for maintaining a high standard of the store's overall look and feel, including cleanliness and recovery standards, to deliver on Brand Promises. This role involves delivering friendly customer service, assisting customers in finding products, and performing cleaning duties. The team member will collect and dispose of trash, dust and mop floors, move equipment and products for cleaning, and prepare cleaning solutions. They will deep clean key areas such as bathrooms, breakrooms, and high-traffic zones to ensure a clean and safe environment for customers and staff. The role also requires maintaining cleaning equipment, notifying supervisors of supply needs, and proactively seeking out areas that require cleaning. Additionally, the team member will complete all assigned tasks in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines, and maintain positive interactions with team members and customers. Other duties may include providing a fast and friendly checkout experience, executing cash handling, engaging customers in loyalty programs, assisting with omnichannel processes (BOPIS, SFS), participating in truck unloads and stocking, supporting shrink and safety programs, and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs.

Requirements

  • Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to move throughout the store.
  • Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching and stretching.
  • Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
  • Use of standard commercial cleaners and chemicals from cleaning supplies.
  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years or older.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain store cleanliness and recovery standards.
  • Deliver friendly customer service and assist customers.
  • Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures.
  • Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures.
  • Move equipment and products for proper cleaning and place products back in correct placement.
  • Clean assigned areas with assigned materials and equipment.
  • Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water and detergents.
  • Deep clean key areas of the store including bathrooms, breakrooms, entry ways and other high traffic areas.
  • Keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly and notify supervisor of supply needs.
  • Seek out areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete the task.
  • Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
  • Maintain positive and respectful interactions with team members and customers.
  • Project a positive image and serve as a role model.
  • Provide a fast and friendly check out experience.
  • Execute cash handling to standards.
  • Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
  • Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
  • Participate in the truck un-load, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
  • Support shrink and safety programs.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs.
