About The Position

This position reports to the Health and Safety Manager. The holder of this position is interested in developing their knowledge and skills in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS), has strong collaboration abilities, and enjoys keeping things organized. They are motivated to work with others and to make the work environment safer for everyone through their problem-solving abilities and creativity. The successful candidate will spend a significant portion of their time in various production areas and administrative zones to ensure internal clients are supported in developing best safety practices. As a result, the incumbent must be motivated, independent, organized, and structured. Working within the Environment, Health, and Safety department, they will collaborate closely with the Infrastructure department. They will receive appropriate guidance and coaching based on their level of expertise. This role reports directly to the EHS Manager for the Québec site.

Requirements

  • Completion of 2 years in a university program in one of the following fields: health and safety, industrial relations, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or completion of 2 years in a technical program related to the field
  • Excellent command of French and English
  • Full-time on-site work with occasional authorized work-from-home days
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint software
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow an action plan and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Client-focused work approach
  • Flexible attitude regarding work assignments and new learning

Responsibilities

  • Acts as support in EHS matters
  • Supports departments in implementing the EHS program and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Conducts regular facility inspections to identify hazards and risks in order to prevent injuries, spills, or other EHS impacts
  • Participates in the task safety analysis process
  • Compiles and reports health and safety data for corporate reporting
  • Assists the organization in managing chemical products
  • Supports employees with ergonomic-related issues
  • Collaborates with managers, supervisors, and staff to identify and implement corrective measures following the identification of unsafe behaviors
  • Develops and distributes communications on EHS-related topics
  • And many other interesting tasks
