About The Position

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs designed to protect employee health and safety and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. This role sets the strategic direction for EHS initiatives, promotes a culture of safety and environmental stewardship, and ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and ensures alignment with Corporate requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in environmental health and safety.
  • Strong understanding of EHS principles, regulations, and best practices, including OSHA, EPA, and related standards.

Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership: Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive EHS policies, programs, and procedures that reduce organizational risk and promote regulatory compliance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local requirements; monitor legislative and regulatory changes and update internal programs, as necessary.
  • Risk Management: Audit facilities, operations, and processes to identify potential hazards or noncompliance issues; develop and implement corrective actions to mitigate risk.
  • Incident Management: Oversee investigations of workplace incidents, accidents, and environmental events; ensure appropriate reporting, root-cause analysis, and corrective action.
  • Training and Development: Establish and maintain employee training programs related to health, safety, and environmental compliance. Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of training and certifications.
  • Culture and Engagement: Foster a proactive safety culture across all levels of the organization, emphasizing prevention, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to align EHS initiatives with overall organizational goals and operational strategies.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate EHS records, including training logs, inspection reports, incident records, and compliance documentation. Prepare reports and metrics for senior management.
