About The Position

The EHS Manager is responsible for environmental, health and safety compliance for the ENA facilities. This includes the coordination and administration of company policies and documents adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of Manufacturing EHS experience is required.
  • Working Knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation/regulations, fire code.
  • Understanding and training of Environmental legislation/regulations, including hazardous waste Air, and water permits through education (certifications or equivalent experience)
  • Knowledge/experience in emergency response procedures and first aid.
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentations

Responsibilities

  • Read, and ensure compliance with all current applicable federal and state environmental, health and safety regulations and accurately prepare all necessary records, reports and documents (includes OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001 and 4500, and Magellan internal controls).
  • Coordinate and facilitate site EHS programs including internal documentation, job safety analysis, risk assessments, emergency response, first aid and employee training, safety audits, and maintain current crisis management plans.
  • Work with the supervisors to keep the SDS system updated and all related EHS systems and employee programs.
  • Oversee and implement EHS training programs (e.g., OSHA, EP, DOT County Air Permits and City Water Quality Permits) written policies/procedures about employee safety, PPE, accident prevention and protection.
  • Actively support all facility EHS communication efforts, committees, programs, teams and events and assist with positively motivating others to participate.
  • Coordinate, grow and develop the safety behavior-based program which includes tracking all audit activities and participation levels for the facility.
  • Works closely with supervisors, auditors/inspectors and other interested parties (such as shareholders, other corporate EHS personnel and local interest groups) to align and respect similar requirements and EHS values.
  • Supports and maintains a strong relationship with the Joint Environmental Health & Safety committee including attending all meetings and recording the minutes of the meetings.
  • Manages the identification of environmental, occupational health & safety needs and ensures they are included in overall Company training plans.
  • Responsible for the delivery of occupational health & safety programs (e.g. machine guarding, Safety Meetings, etc...)
  • Oversees the forklift training and inspection compliance (report all incidence to the designated ENA Manager).
  • Coordinates and organizes with the Quality Manager the Health and Safety, and Environmental Management file system to ensure documentation (both electronic and hard copy files) is properly stored, filled and readily retrievable.
  • Maintains, prints/orders and ensures that all Agency Certifications posted (e.g. City of Glendale Industrial Water Permit, Maricopa Air Quality Non-Title V Permit, ADEQ Hazardous Waste Registration and Department of Labor Documentation).
  • Coordinates the collection, hauling and waste removal or all non-hazardous waste and recyclable material (metal, electronics, pallets, batteries and cardboard) activities.
  • Coordinates all labeling of material and waste is correctly, clearly and timely labeled.
  • Assist with the 6S system, continuous improvement and other lean manufacturing principles as directed
