About The Position

This role involves performing basic preventative maintenance on equipment, buildings, and grounds at the MCBH facility. The specialist will utilize basic carpenter, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC skills to maintain the facility. Responsibilities include record keeping for compliance with regulatory agencies, conducting scheduled preventive maintenance checks, environmental safety rounds, assessing facility conditions, and making recommendations for improvements or repairs. The role also requires performing and documenting regularly scheduled drills, providing input on After-Action reports, and maintaining annual health requirements such as tuberculosis screening and Hepatitis B vaccination. Adherence to all Environment of Care policies and procedures, attendance at in-service training, and participation in EC and IC Committee meetings are also key aspects of the position. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Dependable and detailed oriented.

  • Experience working in maintenance or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer skills (well versed in using computers and different technologies).
  • Ability to use an assortment of hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
  • Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.
  • Ability to work under various working conditions (i.e. bend, stoop, lift, and stand for eight hours).
  • Requires ability to perform heavy lifting (at least 80 lbs.) when necessary.
  • Must have a valid Arkansas driver’s license and be insurable.
  • Flu vaccination is mandatory and required for all positions (subject only to qualified exemptions).
  • This position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to MFH/MCH/MCBH standards and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform record keeping, maintaining written records for compliance with the Department of Health, JCC, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Perform regular scheduled preventive maintenance checks and environmental safety rounds.
  • Assess general condition of the facility and make recommendations for improvements or repairs.
  • Perform and document regularly scheduled Drills and provide input on After-Action reports.
  • Maintain annual tuberculosis screening, Hepatitis B, and all other annual requirements.
  • Follow all policies and procedures that affect the Environment of Care.
  • Attend regularly scheduled in-service training.
  • Attend and participate in the EC and IC Committee monthly meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
