About The Position

The Environmental Impact Teammate Lead reports to the Maintenance-Facilities Supervisor. The Environmental Impact Teammate Lead is responsible for ensuring all operational areas, including buildings, walkways, fence lines, operational areas are kept in clean and orderly condition, while ensuring that all his/her efforts are compliant with the company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. The Environmental Impact Teammate Lead will be required to perform sweeping, weeding, painting, debris disposal, power washing and other operations. Daily activities will be assigned to include sweeping walkways, power washing walls and glass, removing rubbish and debris from the facility, trash bin emptying, and painting of buildings, concrete barriers, and handrails. This position operates under flexible parameters. The primary goal of this position is to achieve excellence in all facets of the position. Providing the highest quality product safely, effectively and efficiently decreases accidents and errors and increase profits.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED Certification preferred.
  • Candidates must have the ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
  • Ability to speak and understand English as a basic level required.
  • This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive an automobile.

Responsibilities

  • Strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
  • Provides a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors.
  • Oversees adherence to schedules, job assignments and activities in order to ensure all operational areas are kept in clean and orderly condition.
  • Verifies records as needed for compliance.
  • Keeps general areas of facility clear of debris, trash, and vegetation.
  • Sweeps both manually and with power equipment.
  • Regularly checks and empties trash containers at facility.
  • By direction of facilities leadership regularly power washes and paints safety barricades, handrails, and buildings around the facility.
  • Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to Radius property.
  • Supports the overall focus of a World Class and customer friendly facility.
  • Performs related duties and projects as directed by supervisor.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Supports the Company’s Internal Control process which includes understanding, communicating, and complying with defined internal controls as well as suggesting and making modifications to the policies, procedures, and controls to better relate to the business.
  • Communicates upward problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, or other policy violations or illegal actions.
