About The Position

JSM Airport Services, LLC is seeking a highly motivated BHS Entry Support Mechanic 2. This is a career-track opportunity, and we are looking for an individual ready to commit to a long-term professional future with our company, with an expected commitment of at least 1 year. The BHS Entry Support Mechanic is an entry level position with varied responsibilities, including, but not limited to, monitoring and training airline employees on the proper induction of passenger bags into the baggage handling system.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year of mechanical work experience
  • High School Graduate or General Educational Development (GED)
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Capable of working without direct supervision for more than fifty (50%) of the time
  • Capable of completing a task with minimal supervision after proper training
  • Fully proficient with, and capable of operating, mechanical hand tools
  • Successfully pass a drug screen (we promote/maintain a Drug Free Workplace)
  • Successfully pass a driver's license check
  • Successfully pass a background check
  • Successfully pass required federal fingerprinting, security threat assessment, as well as airport security badging, for continued employment

  • Airport experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Works with airline employees on the proper introduction of passenger bags into the baggage handling system at Denver International Airport (DEN)
  • Monitor and correct bags that were improperly placed on conveyors
  • Train airline personnel on how to make sure bags are appropriately tagged, and let airline employees know when bag tag printers need service
  • Clear and reset jams and faults
  • Perform cleaning, routine inspections, and preventive maintenance on baggage handling equipment
  • Learn, under direct supervision, to inspect all BHS equipment for proper operation and performance
  • Safety and compliance training as required
  • Perform other reasonable ancillary duties to support the operation and our customer
