About The Position

This entry-level Phlebotomist I position requires the ability to handle patients with care and compassion. Responsibilities include assisting with check-ins via kiosk or tablet, working in the lobby and draw room to cover breaks, and performing forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing. A high level of customer service experience and skills are essential. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, phlebotomy experience (including internship or externship), and keyboard and data entry experience.

Requirements

Ability to handle patients with care and compassion.
Ability to work in the lobby and in a draw room to cover breaks.
Ability to perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
High level of customer service experience and skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Phlebotomy experience, including internship or externship experience.
Keyboard and data entry experience.

Responsibilities

Greet patients upon arrival and answer questions or concerns with care and compassion.
Maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable.
Utilize Phlebotomy skills to support the organization.
Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients in a safe and accurate manner.
Demonstrate excellence in customer care while focusing on process skills and sensitivity to confidentiality.
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
Maintain a safe and professional environment.
Maintain required records and documentation.
Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public.
Assist patients with check-in at the kiosk and ensure comfort while waiting for laboratory services.
Fill in for breaks and cover for staffing shortages as needed.
