About The Position

The Entry Operator (Slitter Department) uses machinery to bring metal coils from outside into the beginning stages of production. Entry operators will often coordinate with teammates to ensure accurate and timely production.

Requirements

One-year certificate from college or technical school OR Three to six months related experience and/or training.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Knowledge of use and care of common hand tools.

Responsibilities

Accurately and efficiently, stage coils for processing; schedule loads in order to produce maximum load capabilities.
Must set and adjust variables following established practice, and operate as necessary to comply with established procedures.
Continuous mental and visual attention in loading, operating, running tests and checks, maintaining records and other duties involving constant alertness.
Understand and utilize the controls & instruments on the threading equipment to process materials properly.
Perform routine maintenance on all work equipment. Maintains clean work area.
Operating an overhead crane and forklift as needed to load and unload pipe.
Must perform duties in a high heat / high humidity environment.
