About The Position

Equipment Development Company, a leading manufacturer in Frederick, Md. is looking for a sub-assembler to join their team. No prior experience is required, but knowledge of tools is a plus. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm. Good attendance is paramount to being successful in this role. Salary Range: $18.39 - $22.47 per hour Why Work at EDCO? Requirements

  • Incumbent shall have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Must be dependable – work as part of a team
  • Must be able to maintain continuous mental & visual attention (hand-eye coordination)
  • Ability to relocate small equipment on a waist high table as required
  • Routine bending from waist to perform assembly tasks
  • Routine bending and squatting to get parts off pallet and return finished parts to pallet
  • Occasionally drive a stand-up forklift
  • Available to work overtime when necessary
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Strong work ethic
  • Good attendance/punctuality
  • Ability to hear/talk frequently
  • Ability to walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, etc.
  • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to work around fumes (paint, etc.)
  • Abides by company policy on matters related to civil rights of employees (e.g., sexual harassment, ethnic harassment, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Perform bench-type processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies using hand tools and electronic tooling
  • Perform function of correct labeling of assembled machines
  • Report defective materials to the department head
  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations at all times
  • Use independent judgment in troubleshooting and problem-solving under general supervision
  • Other duties as assigned
